The membrane is installed using the OBEX CORTEX 0825 Installation Kit which includes 2 rolls of 0824FR Double-Sided Tape and 6 rolls of single sided 0823FR UV Façade Tape.

OBEX CORTEX 0230FR VCL Membrane

OBEX CORTEX 0230FR Class A2 VCL membrane has excellent air and vapour-tightness properties which make it ideally suited to improving the airtightness, moisture management and energy efficiency of buildings.  It is installed on the warm side of the insulation and provides an air and vapour-tight barrier, preventing warm air and moisture from passing through the external wall and forming interstitial or surface condensation within the cavity. The VCL Membrane is normally bonded to the steel framing with OBEX CORTEX Double-Sided Tape before the plasterboard layer is applied.  Applications may vary depending on the construction build up.  The OBEX Technical team can help with any application queries. The membrane is installed using the CORTEX 0825 Installation Kit which includes 2 rolls of CORTEX 0824FR Double-Sided Tape and 6 rolls of single sided CORTEX 0823FR UV Façade Tape.

OBEX CORTEX 0270 Score ‘n’ Snap Sheathing Board.

OBEX CORTEX 0270FR Score’N’Snap Cement Board Class A1 is a lightweight hybrid cement board, featuring the durability and weather resistance of a cement board, but with the workability and install speed of a gypsum board. The Score’N’Snap Board is an external sheathing board that fixes onto Steel Frame Section walls and is suited to demanding outdoor environments that are exposed to heat, moisture and frost. The 0270FR Board is also suitable for internal walls as a substrate for tiles and other decorative finishes such as renders.

OBEX CORTEX 0280FR Board Joint Sealant seals the joints and fixing heads on the OBEX CORTEX 0270FR Class A1 Score ‘N’ Snap Cement Board.  The 0280FR sealant has been tested as part of the EN 1364-1 system using the CORTEX 0270FR Board and CORTEX 0290FR Board Screws to achieve a 60 minute & 120 minute fire rating.

OBEX CORTEX 0290FR Self-Drilling Board Screws are used to fix and secure the CORTEX 0270 Class A1 Cement Board to the framing structure.  The fixings are made from carbon steel with an exterior-grade coating for superior corrosion resistance in damp and corrosive environments. The fixings were used as part of the EN 1364-1 fire resistance test, along with the CORTEX 0270 Board and CORTEX 0280 Board Sealant to achieve a 60 min & 120 min fire rating.
