Ultimate Insulation Supplies are proud to be one of the 20 partners in the construction of the COP26 House developed by Beyond Zero Homes. The timber frame COP26 House showcases zero-carbon, circular solutions in building, and living, using standard materials and skills available today and will be showcased at the 2021 UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow.
The future of the COP26 house.
After COP26 has ended, the house will dismantled back into its pre-fabricated 1.2 metre grid and transported to Aviemore to form the start of a sustainable and affordable 12 home development. The houses are designed to use homegrown C16 spruce, to avoid the need for imported timber. Key to the design of the house is that it can be easily dismantled at the end of it's life, for re-use of materials or recycling.
Ultimate Insulation Supplies are the distributors of STEICO's wood fibre products in Scotland and have been given the honour of supplying wood fibre products for the COP26 house and the future devleopment of 12 homes in Aviemore. Working with STEICO, we are passionate about helping the growth of sustainable construction materials here in Scotland and the UK.
6,875 kg of CO2 are stored in STEICO's insulation in the COP26 house, the equivalent of 40,000 miles driven by an average car.
